Trans Alpine

Recently I was fortunate enough to be aboard the Trans Alpine from Christchurch to Greymouth. The weather wasn't perfect but that didn't detract much from either the scenery or the experience as a whole. It was cold but you get that where there is large amounts of snow.

Falcon on a lure

This is Ozzy from Wingspan Rotarua, In this image he has just cought a training lure during a demonstration flight at the center.
I love the movement in this photo, the angle of the wings as he turns with the lure. I've no idea what speed he was doing when he hit the lure but he wasn't wasting any time.

Abstract

This shot wsa takin while testing an after market macro extention tube on my Canon EOS. Unfortunatly the fit was not very good & it let in rather alot of light so I didn't purchase it in the end. However the testing did produce this shot, takin of a small flower at close range, & I rather liked the effect. The lighter overall cast is a result of the light bleeding into the frame from behind the lense. I'd love to know what you think of it. Posted by Picasa

The fire

Take 6 engineers, add booze, fire and a remote location. As you can imagine the marshmellows were pretty effectively toasted... Posted by Picasa
